Subject: Using Google Scholar for woodworking tips

I recently made a comment about applying glue to two faces of a joint and referred to scientific publications. Several people have asked where to get scientific information about gluing, wood curing, etc. If you go to Google Scholar and search your topic you will find more than you ever wanted to know. For example, suppose you want to make a jig for some joint. Enter the description of what you want to do. You will find many patents on "tricks" for doing just what you want. Some of these are simple things that you might see in a popular journal on woodworking tricks. Others are, of course, manufacturing methods only of value to a large operation. I just thought some people who have not tried this would find it interesting. I often find interesting techniques from such a search. However, it takes time so I do not do it very often.
