] Date Posted: 11:34:32 08/05/10 Thu In 1992 Shannon Marketic became the Miss USA for that year. Shannon represented the state of Cali., and went on to be a semifinalist in the '92 Miss Universe pageant. Today, she is known as one of the former Miss USA's to have many troubles dating back to a decade. Shannon is still one of my favorite Miss USA's, and I think she is a beautiful person. Although she now lives in Texas, she is not one of the Texas Aces; the (5)women that won the Miss USA title consecutively from the mid to late "80's. Shannon won in '92, and the only woman from Texas that won in that decade was Chelsi Smith. She went on to become Texas' first, and only Miss Universe to date.
