Will the Cheetahs be playing any exhibition games against any Frontier League teams prior to the start of the regular season?

I recall attending a Cheetahs-Springfield exhibition game, for free, a couple of seasons ago. Seeing that the Cheetahs open their season on Wed. 5-29-02, I was hoping to catch an exhibition game the Saturday or Sunday the weekend before. Any info on this?

Also, are any sports card shows planned at "the Hawk" this year? I also recall attending a card show, at the ballpark, on a Saturday afternoon before a Cheetah game a couple of summers ago. This could prove to be a good P.R. tool for the team, if re-instituted.

Looking forward to attending my usual 10-12 games again this season. Glad to see a new management team is in place. So far the job you're doing is great! A far cry from last year!!

Seattle,

Yup, we are playing a doubleheader exhibition against Rockford at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, it's free and open to the public. We're also playing two exhibitions against a Japanese team, May 21 and 22, both games at 4 and also free.

As far as card shows, we've been talking to a couple sponsors about it, but nothing's set yet.

Thanks for the kind words, our main battle is getting the word out on a budget, so it's good to know that at least someone is hearing something! To be fair, last year's management only had about 2 months to get a whole season together, so even the 4 months I have seem like a vacation compared to how that must have been.

But again, thank you. It'll be interesting to see how the season turns out!
