How about a sweetheart of the game as was done with Lucky Chucky and Jake the Diamond Dog two years ago? and the Sweetheart would get the bouquet of flowers and be the sweetheart of the game.

What about a ladies night, where ladies get in either 1/2 price or free? Or free drinks for the ladies for one game.

The Kane County Cougars have bobble heads of a few of their players. How about that instead of Chucky Bobbleheads? If Pichi is back, maybe a Pichi Balet bobble head? He did break the Frontier league batting record.

Cheetah temporary Tattoos for the kids

2003 team baseball cards, instead of selling the 2001 team cards during the 2002 season.

thanks for reading

Gimme a Break

Id like to see anyone try to handle a game day and see if they survive by the end of the night. I doubt most people would. Theres so much more that nobody sees than just showing up at the ballpark every day. If you think you can do it, why not apply for a job at the ballpark next year, and lets see what you are made of.

Guys and gals,

Thanks for the good ideas, I'll keep all these (even Bob's) in front of me as we start to plan 2003.

I'm in Arizona right now, taking care of some family business, but I'll answer some of these posts next week when I've got a bit more time.

Thanks again, and keep the good ideas coming!

Thank you all for your patience, I finally have a few minutes to breathe and respond to some of your suggestions.

A lot of these - sweetheart of the game, fan of the game - are things that are easily implemented and we'll work on getting those sponsored over the winter so we can give away some cool stuff to go with it.

I like the Ladies Night idea - we're going to have a half price night too, whether it's Mondays or Tuesdays.

Deb, you asked about tank tops - are you sure you want to see Bill in a tank top? We're trying to get people IN to the park. Plus, the glare might distract the pitchers. :-) Good idea, though, I'll shop for some over the winter.

OakLawnGuy - thank you for not piling on, and I like the food item day too, though that is something we'll have to coordinate through Buona. Pat Rusthoven came up with a good idea to tie some of that together, so we'll work on that over the winter too.

Linda asked about home and away games on SportsJuice - that's a tough one, but something we'll work on. We'd love to have all the games on radio and Internet, so we'll attack that over the winter. I have to admit, though, that it's kind of low on the priority list - we have a lot of in-park sponsorships to sell before we get to that. It is on the radar, though.

She also asked about getting kids into the games. Over the winter, we are going to revamp our on-field games to get more kids on the field. As far as getting them in the games on game day, the best thing to do is come to customer service early and get them on the list. Teams used to pick ticket stubs or random numbers, but what they found was that the people picked either didn't want to do the game or wouldn't show when it was time. You'll see in most places that they don't do that anymore. So, what we did this year with Sarah, getting kids signed up early, is pretty standard. If anyone has a better way to do that, I'd love to hear it.

I like the idea of a Pichi bobblehead night, but we have to see if Pichi is back next year - he, along with a couple of other players, is drawing a fair amount of interest from higher-level teams. We'll look at that as our team forms for 2003. We could have a Pat Quane bobblehead night, I'd pay money for one of those. :-)

Did I miss anything?
