Hello Fellow Cook County Cheetahs Fans!

I am a full time student at Illinois State University and feature cartoonist for their student newspaper. I am also a big Cheetahs fan and enjoy watching their games after I get off work in the summer.

Last summer I decided to draw a "furry" style cheetah cartoon character in a Cook County Cheetahs uniform. I sent it to the Cook County Cheetahs to see if they had any use for it. To my astonishment I was soon contacted by the Cheetah's webmaster who wanted to use my cartoon on their website. Unfortunately, I was later told by the General Manager of the team that they had decided against the use of my character.

Since you are all Cheetahs fans, I figured you might enjoy seeing my Cheetah baseball player cartoon character. If you are interested you can see it:

Hello Dan,

You are a very talented artist. I don't know why the graphic was decided against, but I would guess probably due to either legal issues, copywrite or Trademark issues, or maybe you were looking for monetary compensation for use of the drawing, or something similar. I don't know the circumstances.

I do thank you for sharing.
