Well, you have to consider that Hawkinson Ford Field is a much smaller field than Kane County and other neighboring ballparks. If you take a look at the number of seats total, and the percentage of the park filled, I think they come out about the same in percentage of filled seats. The other ballparks have more seats and hold more people, that is why they have a larger attendance.

Also, you need to factor in the weather. It was pretty chilly the opening night and Saturday night for the games. Lots of kids are still in school and parents are waiting until school gets out to go to games as well.

I was at all three home openers, and I'd say attendance was better than it was the previous two years. No, it wasn't completely sold out, but compared to previous years opening days, it was a pretty full crowd.

Something that I would like to see the Cheetahs do, something that the Cougars, the Flyers and the Jackhammers all do, is make their schedule available. This afternoon, got gas in Burbank. The gas station had Cougar schedules by the register. I picked one up, and I'll most likely use it later in the season to pick out a game or two to go to. Only place I've ever seen Cheetah schedules are at Hawkinson Ford Field. Its a small thing, and I can certainly see how it could be decided that its not that important, but I think it would make a difference. It would at least tell the customers of that Burbank gas station that there is a pro baseball team 20 minutes away, instead of the 45 minutes it takes to get to the Cougars. I know a lot of people that I talk to don't even know the SW suburbs have a baseball team.
