Hello Aline,
Some people think that Anne was a persuadable character in the beginning of the book because she followed Lady Russell’s ideas. In my opinion, she always had a strong personality and she acted following her own thoughts because in the end she didn’t regretted anything.
I don’t thing people’s thoughts about getting married had changed very much. There are some people who do it for love and there are other who do it because of other interests.
