1- I have many beliefs to believe Capitu has not betrayed Bentinho. At first, he tells us the story after all the character (his mom, his son and Caitu) has died, so there was nobody to contest him. He tries, during the novel, to show us some features which would incriminate Capitu later, but they are just his way of thinking. When he accused her of treason she was in silence, because she knew she was right and no arguments would change his idea. These are some reason that make me Capitu was faithful.
2- I love Machado de Assis writings. "Dom Casmuro" is my favorite book because it was written in a ironic way and we can feel like an investigator and try to find out clues to create our ouwn conclusion. It's wonderful to read it and have fun.
