Taking temperature rectally on kids have always had other purposes than just measuring the temperature.

In some many modern clinics rectal temperature is regarded as obsolete, but these clinics tend to perform a seperate inspection of the anus or a rectal exam much more often in stead to serve these purposes, when one previously only took rectal temperature performed in a thorough way.

The most frequent purposes are;

- Looking for symptoms of disease to bettter make a diagnosis. Infectional diseases, neurological disturbances, allergies or digestive problems will often give symptoms in the rectal area.

. Checking the hygiene of a child.

- Looking for symptoms of sexual abuse by observing the reaction of the child or symptoms of injury.

- Using the recations of the child as a part of the psychological assessment.

- Conditioning the kid psychologically for the rest of the exam. When this most intimate area is accessed at an early stage, the child is made to understand and accept that every part of himher can be object for examination. During the temperature taking, the nure also typically instruct the child to relax and make himself open, which will be useful during the main exam too.

- Getting a microbial specimen.

The usual procedure is that the nurse makes notes at her papers of observations that the doctor reads thereafter before the main exam.

But in some settings the doctor prefere to take the temperature himself to observe directly.

On some other forum, the point has already been made, that (whether Norwegian doctors believe it or not) the notion that reflexive anal dilatation was any indication of paedopathic abuse was discredited years ago, in the "Dr Marietta Higgs" case.

And before KH starts up another conspiracy theory, there is no medical, or other, form of anal penetration that can "open the third eye" - it can only "open the stink"!

In Norway stealing of children by the CPS system from the families has got industrial proportions with huge sums of money involved, and they even steal children from foreign families visiting Norway .

It is true that the rectal reflex symptoms as indication of sexual abuse is since long discredited.

Still doctors and nurses cooperating with the CPS system in Norway use this method and pretend that it is valid.

Norway is a country with utterly fraudulent authorities of all kind, and this is just one example of many from this country.

And yes, my hobby is to investigate conspiracies, because these are unfortunately a fact of society.
