Subject: About Medical clinics Integrated in Schools and What Happens inside These

It is common knowledge that any school for children and teens tend to have a room for the school nurse and a room for underessing. It is also commonly known that children and teens have periodic exams with various degree of throroughness in this room.

What is not so well known, is that the greatest schools in many countries have a whole clinic intergerated in the school building or in a seperate anex to tne school, or several smaller schools share such a clinic in a separate anex.

These clincics are generally used to do all types of exams and even some common surgeries. They are equipped to perform procedures under general anesthesia or deep sedation. They often have an intensive care unit and hospital rooms where kids can stay for hours or days after an exam or procedure.

These clinics are generally equipped to perform endoscopic exams through all body openings, ultrasound exams in all body areas, most types of x-ray exams and tests of neurological function, heart function and digestive function.

They also tend to have cooperation with doctors at nearby hospitals that come to the clinkcs and do more specialized exams with equipment they take with themselves.

These clinics tend however to shield much of its rooms and content from general knowledge by children and parents.

What the kids and the parents generalle know about is an area for undressing, a room where the nurse takes vital signs and performs simple measurement, and a doctor's room for more thorrogh exams.

The other rooms are usually situated in more inner sctions of the clinic, and the children does not know about them before they are brought to these sections for more thorrugh exams, and even then much of the content will remain secret because these exams are often performed under deep sedation or general anesthesia.

All children attending schools with such clinics use to undergo these mandatory procedures:

- Endoscopic inspection of the urethra, prostate area bladder and often firther up to each kidney.
- Endoscopic inspection of the vagina of girls.
- Endoscopic exam of the anus, colon and sometimes further up into the small intestine.
- Endoscopic inspection through the mouth down to the stomach and small intestine.
- Ultrasound inspection of the pelvic region and genitals with probes used externally and inserted into the vagina and anus and somtimes into the urethra.

Many of these clinics also perform an inspection of the abdominal cavity with an endosocpe inserted through a hole made in the navel or just beneath tha navel.

These types of exams are most commonly done just when the child begins school at 6 years old, in the preteen period 10-12 years old, and in the early teen period around 14-15 years old.

What determines the exact time of these exams is the development stage of each child and not the age level.

Ultrasound exams of other body regions and testing of neurological functions, heart function and respiration tend to be done each year.

In the followeing I will describe in more detail how these clinics tend to be organized and how kids are brought through these procedures.

The knoledge revealed here has been obtained through extensive polls answared by people having experience from these clinics and by confering with litterature.
