Unless there are extenuating circumstances its very likely I will paddle a student sent to my office for a disciplinary matter. Maybe you're old enough to understand that in order for it to be effective there has to be consistency in how discipline at school is applied so that students know clearly what kind of behavior will lead to the paddle being used.
You mention your school uses corporal punishment and you've been paddled at school. I hope after you were paddled, if maybe not at the time, you thought your punishment was fair and justified.
If its any consolation remember principals were once your age and occasionally found themselves on the receiving end of their principal's paddle!
