Ok we have not been able to have our Sunday Night street Brawl for a couple of weeks now but we will try again this Sunday night. This sunday night not only will we be having our brawler spots with all the index classes but we will also be having some selected grudge races by some of san antonios big hitters. We will be trying to get Angel "The Freakin Rican" Padilla with "BIG RED" to run against Big Kenny in the heavy chevy 55. The newest car out of Team Performance Advantage "Blue Bullie" will be out doing some test hits and will take on anyone who might want a little some some. This sunday night will have the most grudge racing that we have had so far so if you want to do some grudge racing and you think you have what it takes to take on some of the baddest cars around just step right up because you are the next contestent in the Sunday Night Street Brawl. I am sure Dan the axe man Veripps will be there and Mago in the Green Machine Chevelle is looking to get it on one more time. Dont miss this one! More Grudge races coming soon so stay tuned!
If you want to grudge race someone contact me either at 210-849-3225 or protreefreddy@yahoo.com We will make it happen.

Great show everyone! I'm from Ontario Canada and was visiting Austin on business. Glad I found this track so I didn't have to miss a weekend of racing. Even got my hands dirty helping a few of you out. Hoping to get one more track day in before we end our season up north. Cheers :)

Due to other events at the track and the fact the we just started this race our next race will be scheduled for Sunday Sept.13th.

Please help us let everyone know about our sunday races and see what we can do to keep them going. At this point we will have this next race then Midnight Madness 2 weeks later. Maybe we can arrange with the track to have midnight Madness then our sunday race 2 weeks later. This will allow us to have a little time off between races and get ready for the next event.

what do you guys think about this one?

With the lack of participation in the import class we are going to go ahead and open it up to all imports. If we get to the point were we see someone dominate then we can look at the rules again.
Thanks!

It rained all day sunday but in the late afternoon it finally cleared for a little street brawl action.
The nights racing was good and we had fun with the little cars we did have.
All results will be up shortly. Please stay tuned.
Thanks!

We will be back to racing this coming sunday 8-24. We will not be racing on the same weekend of Midnight Madness every month. This will be the last time we race this month because the following weekend will be The Clash of the Titans so we will not be racing that sunday either.
Hope to see everyone there this sunday.
Thanks!

This board is dead! Where is everybody at? Maybe Todd was right, SAT must not have an interest in heads-up racing…

I agree 100% that the racers should be able to fight it out till one is left to challenge the winner of the week before. The winner shouldn't have to race until only one challenger is left.

If this is the way you guys want to do this it is fine with me. I just thought you might want to run more then just once that night. I am good either way.
Thanks for everyones support.

I believe that all of the cars should run the first round.
The winners would come back for the second round,etc...
Just like the first week, that was FUN!

I go to race, not wait around. Speaking of waiting, can we start at 8 pm or 8:30 instead of nine, maybe more cars will show.

The week before is history, good job to the drivers that won. Who will be the winner...in two weeks.

I will be there to find out!

I agree , I liked the 1st week . The races were super close and there were a bunch of nail biters that came down to the wire . Maybe we could do a 1st round bye for the prior weeks winner and then they jump in on the 2nd round to defend their title . In some cases , there might only be one round so the previous winner would defend their title anyways .

Either way , running this event weekly will probably burn it out quicker . I think once a month and starting it a little earlier would be in the best interest for everyone racing . I would also like to see some pay outs in classes where at least 10 people show up to race . No money for the 1st loser , only for the top dog in the class .

I like the idea of having a payout for the top brawler in the class....but if not, just make side bets like I did...LOL

That was the way it was explained in the rules prior to the race and it should be that way. The Brawler already proved himself the week before he should then have to defend his title against the best of the competitors. Also, why does the fastest car of the night win money? It should be the person who runs closest to his dial-in, seeing as how bracket racing is more about consistancy than speed.

I think that the idea here is to stay away from bracket type racing (no offense intended). If you ask most of the fans they just want to see fast not throttle stop cars that can run on the same number. On the other hand I also like the idea of forgetting about last weeks winner and completely starting all over again, however, it doesn't give you many bragging rights. Again these are just my 2 cents, and I have spoken with quite a few racers that feel the same way. Maybe a good idea would be to get together before the rounds start and vote on what everyone may think its a good idea. Thanks, Smiley.

Run it like any other race.Put em in the lanes, pair em up and bring em to the line.Keep running rounds till there's one left standing in an index class.End of year, whoever won the most finals in their index is the Champ. If there's a tie at the end on final wins, line em up and settle it,side by side.Hell, maybe throw in a big decal for their car or trailer-"200? SAR Street Brawler Champion"

This is so funny! The bad part about it, it is 100% true!

All winners will have to defend their titles.

what do you guys think about the winner of the race will have to beat last weeks winner 2 out of 3? Just a question? This gives last weeks winner a little more then just 1 race.

Well if the prior weeks champ has to line up with everyone else, he mine as well of been JUST last weeks champ and we might as well start the race all over again and forget about last week and start fresh. If you'd like to defend what class you represent then I think you should be treated like a winner and make the other race chase each other for a chance at the TITLE, especailly if this will be every weekend. My 2 cents, Smiley.

I like the idea of making this a series and crowning a class champ for each index . It would lure racers in the points race to continue showing up and ensure the track a steady amount of racers . I also agree that last week or last month or what ever was last whatevers champs . I think they should get a 1st round bye but have to fight it out the rest of the way if they want to retain the champ spot . I still think once a week is way too frequent for a steady crowd but once a month is doable .

Not so much a point series with no winner until the end but more so the person with the most wins receives an additional trophy or something at the end of the year . You'd still receive a plaque like now for each event you win .

#3 Brawler goes out to none other then the lady in Pink Michelle Kato. Michelle was able to hold of 3 competitors and stay on top at the end of the night.

#4 brawler goes out to the axe man Dan Veripps. Dan took out several cars along the way and stayed on top at the end of the night.

#5 Brawler is now Roy Saenz. RRoy started the night off with some problems but battled through them and was able to stay on top.

#6 Brawler is Danny Dear. Last week Danny came up a little short but this week he came out on top.

#7 Brawler is now Mike Forbes in his good looking chevelle. Mike was also in the finals last week but came up short then, Not this week!

Ok so what are we going to do about the rules on racing the week befores champ? I know that this is only the second time for this event, but I was looking for some input on what other racers feel should be the approach on how the race should take place. (A)Should the weeks prior winner have to race everyone that steps up, or (B)SHOULD THE WINNER LET EVERYONE BATTLE IT OUT FOR A SHOT AT THE TITLE AGAINST (HIM OR HER)? I vote (B), just a suggestion I'm not trying to start anything just looking to simplify and so everyone can voice their opinon on what it is racers may want, and continue this awesome event. Thanks, Smiley.

In all fairness I think it better and less complicated if the rules changed to what Smiley suggested "LET EVERYONE BATTLE IT OUT FOR A SHOT AT THE TITLE", then have the "champ" race the winners. I know that would be a lot like the MM format, but at MM you don't have lower ET indexes. Also the question was raised Sunday about challenges...if a defending champ or challenger that had been beat could re-challenge on the same night. I don't think anyone should be able to re-challenge...if your beat your beat, you have to wait till next week. Sorry for the long post but i think once we get all the finite details worked out this will be a good race... My .02

I would really like to see john come and run michelle. I would bet she would kick his arse in whatever car he drives. First of all the camaro only made it doen the track a 1/4 of the time and the cutlass dont have enough for old pinky. lol

...so I'm just a "field filler"....is THAT what you call it, John? My car was the fastest in that field that night BTW. And if I can't drive, why do I have an Ironman sitting on my shelf?? Do YOU have one of those? And I believe that at the last MM, I beat a 9.90 car on a HOLESHOT...

Bring the Gutlass out Johnny or is that past your bedtime?

SUNDAY NIGHT STREET BRAWL

The latest and greatest street legal racing action is coming every Sunday night to San Antonio Raceway. Starting August 3rd., we will be running a Sunday night program called Sunday night street brawl. We will have all heads up pro-tree action with side by side racing from 6pm till 11pm. This event promises to be another great street legal event with a little bit of everything for everybody. You think you have a fast streetcar; you want a safe place to race, well then come out and join us for the Sunday night street brawl. Its fun , fun, and more fun for the whole family.

The Sunday Night Street Brawl will start off with a top 10 street brawlers. If you think you have what it takes to be a street brawler then challenge anyone of the current street brawlers and take their spot. We will also have a top import brawler along with a modified frame and stock frame bike brawler. We will have a true street brawler for those unaltered frame non drag radial cars. These cars must use a hard radial tire. Just incase you might think you have what it takes to be the ultimate Brawler we will have this spot for a no holds bar door slammer spot. There will also be a prize of $100.00 to the fastest door slammer pass of the night.
We are working on finishing our website for this event were will have pictures and videos of the races every Sunday night. At the end of the night last brawlers standing will have their pictures taken in the winners circle and posted on the website. This is just the start to a really great event that will continue to grow and soon be the most talked about street style racing around. We will have lanes for test and tuners and lanes for all brawlers so all door cars are welcomed to come and race at the Sunday Night Brawl.
Come join us and be part of the Sunday Night Street Brawl!

RULES:
1. No delays boxes or throttle stops allowed.
2. All brawlers will have to take a max of 3 challenges per night if challenged by another competitor. Last brawler standing at the end of the night will be that week’s brawler in whatever spot challenged.
3. Imports limited to front wheel drive uni-body cars.
4. True Street brawler must have a unaltered frame with factory style non drag radial tires. This class is for cars that are driven in off the street only.

TOP 10 BRAWLER SPOTS
1. 9.0 to 9.50
2. 9.51 to 10.00
3. 10.01 to 10.50
4. 10.51 to 11.00
5. 11.01 to 11.50
6. 11.51 to 12.00
7. 12.01 to 12.50
8. 12.51 to 13.00
9. 13.01 to 13.50
10. 13.51 to 14.00

Please feel free to spread the word on the net and help us show San Antonio Raceway that we deserve another event for the street racers.

If your interested in competing for the top 10 or any other brawler spot please post it on here and we can start this party now. If you have any questions of suggestions please feel free to call me at 210-849-3225 or email me at protreefreddy@yahoo.com.
I am open to any any and all suggestions as long as it will help us grow this event.
Thanks
Freddy Cruz

We had a great night of racing last night. This was the first Sunday Night Street Brawl and it was the start to what is expected to be the place to be every Sunday night.

Since this was our first race and there was no current brawlers in any spot we decided that we were going to allow everyone who wanted to run a index race for each spot and the winners would be crowned this weeks brawler. Next race we will take all challenges for the defending brawlers and any open brawler spots.
Now you can expect it to get real good real quick when each current brawler will be fighting to be the best and stay on top.

In our #1 Brawler spot we had a 4 car field which included Kenny in the heavy 55 Chevy, Angel the Freakin Rican Padilla in Big Red mustang, Larry Dogget in his killer looking Nova and the one and only Candy Cain. In the end the #1 spot brawler is now Larry Dogett with his nova taking out Candy Cain in the finals.

In the #2 Brawler Spot we had no competitors so this spot remains open till next week.

#3 Brawler we had a battle of 5 racers and in the finals we had none other then the most feared color on the property Michelle Kato in her pink mustang against Jimmy Farmer in his little 67 chevy 2 nova. In the end Jimmy ends up with the #3 spot.

#4 Brawler had the most cars competing to see who was going to be the first #4 brawler. 10 cars competed and at the end it was Douglass Cash in his 66 nova over Alvin Baldwin in his 72 nova.

#5 Brawler Charlton Sanders will be waiting on challenges come this Sunday. Charlton was the only challenger for this spot but i am sure he will have some come this sunday.

#6 Brawler was decided when Danny Dear in his Chevy 2 nova was eliminated by Buddy Bell in his 57 chevy. Buddy will have his hands full this week.

#7 Brawler goes out to Bryan Dykess in his good looking mustang. Bryan had to battle off 2 competitors but lasted at the end.

#8 ,#9, and #10 brawler spots are open and available for anyone who wishes to challenge for them this Sunday.
Altered Frame rail motorcycle and Import Brawlers are also still up for grabs.

Our Top Brawler is none other then Eric Crumley in his camaro who not only won his spot but collected the low ET money as well with a 8.23.

Unaltered Frame Motorcycle Brawler is John Forsyth. John will be ready to take on challenger this week.

What kind of safety equipment will be required? What level of tech inspection? This will be the first time out with my new setup. I will bring ET streets but I might just go with True Street radials. Thanks for putting this on! I'm driving there from Houston, racing, then driving it home.

Helmets are required from 13.99 and quicker.
roll cage required for 9.99 and quicker.
seat belts at 11.99 i think.
There are other things needed but this is the basic.

Just to clear things up a little. All door cars are welcomed to come and race for all spots. The only class that requires hard dot radial tires is the True Street brawler class.

Any car can use any tire in all other classes.
