Some basic rules of conduct/play guidelines for our members.

The Gravedancers Union should be known for being playful, reliable, helpful, and fair. Promotion through the ranks is based on these concepts. In basic terms:

Frequent use of /dance, /silly, and other amusing emotes is greatly encouraged, especially when everyone else is getting a bit too serious.

Never make a promise you cannot keep. If another player or member asks for a favor, you should first make absolutely sure you can help, before agreeing to do so. 'Renegging' on deals or failing to come through is frowned upon, and frequently doing so may result in a demotion or being kicked from the guild.

Members are expected to help other players when possible. This doesn't mean you have to spend all your time being a good samaritan, but a little bit helps. It's easy to direct new players to a town guard for assistance if you don't have the time to escort them, or to answer a question in chat if you have the knowledge. Helping out your fellow players improves their game experience and makes the world a better place to be. And best of all, you can brag about your goody-two-shoes-ness here, and might even earn yourself a promotion.

Fairness and justice are big issues in a virtual world, where a toon's in-game actions may be interpreted as a representation of his player. Members of the Gravedancers Union are expected to deal fairly with other players, meaning they behave in a civil (if somewhat goofy) manner unless and until they are provoked.

If you are having a problem with another player or another guild member I urge you to speak to an Officer for their assistance, rather than trying to handle the situation yourself. A mediator can help keep everyone calm and on the same level.

Other general guidelines:

Members, officers especially, are expected to help lower-level guild members. This does not obligate you to give away all your money or cool stuff, but we all find items we can't (or don't want to) use, and most 'lowbies' would be grateful for the assistance. You can store these in the bank for lower-level guild members to access, or give them in 'person'.

Lower-level guild members may request assistance, but persistent requests, demands, or spamming will result in demotion to Initiate on a temporary basis. Repeated offenses will result in being kicked from the guild.

Gifts of coin or loans between guild members is not encouraged and should only be done if you really trust the other player. If you want to be generous to your guild, add funds to the guild bank - this way it is automatically on record (in the Money Log) and accessible by any other guild member. Loan contracts may be posted here so that other players/members are aware of the deal, but if you wind up getting burned, the guild is not responsible for reimbursing you.. although we might help track down the scammer.

All for one and one for all. Your guild will back you up in the event of continuing unbased attacks or offensive players who refuse to listen to mediation. Contact an Officer for help first.

As yet there is no amount of 'required hours of play' to qualify you as a guild member. However, if we have many players who focus more on their alts and are not contributing to the guild as a whole, such a requirement may be set. Special circumstances (work, family, school) will be taken into consideration.

Mockery of other players or members, continued rudeness, and spitting are all disapproved of. Except maybe the really gross monsters, and Alliance people in PvP - you can spit on them. But don't spit on other Horde. That's just gross. You can however moon them all you want. :)

Lastly I ask that you keep in mind, your Guild Master is a fairly new player and still learning the ins and outs of the game. Advice and assistance is appreciated!
