WORKSHEET 2

The utterance which would have all the interpretations listed is “It’s Saturday”.
⋅ “It’s Saturday” can count as a summons, invitation or request on the part of the wife to her husband who wants to stay in bed.
⋅ It can count as the son’s request to stay out late.
⋅ It may be interpreted as the lady’s granting permission for the nanny to leave.
⋅ It can be taken as a refusal to go to the cinema (because of the long lines usually found on Saturdays or because they usually do something else on this day).
⋅ It might be interpreted as an invitation for sex.
⋅ It could also count as a warning that the addressee might get a ticket.

Congradulations! Most of you got the answer or got very close to it!
