Hey, people!

I've read your comments and I can honestly say: Cecília, you are not alone!

When I did my observations at public schools (while I was at the university) it was really similar to what Danúbia said. It seems to me that the only model of teaching a foreign language was writing structures, formulas and examples on the board! 100% of the teachers I observed used to do it.

To my mind, teaching grammar is kind of challenging. As any other topic to be taught, it depends on who you are teaching, why and what is being taught. This group of questions makes all the difference! If you are teaching children and don't explain it deductively, they don't even notice they are being taught grammar. I've proved it with my pupils.

But, as all of you, I've tried to develop my lessons! Now I can see my classrooms as laboratories... Let's try different ways to discover what works better!

By the way, Danubia... You said: "The problems is I like grammar." This is not the problem! It's really a helping hand in my opinion. I hope you can take all the advantadges of liking it!

Hugs,

Carol
