DA and Vocabulary

Comments:

Language is communication. Learning a language implies not only, learning it in terms of lexical items and structures, but also the peculiarities of this language so as to make communication natural and connected to real life. Therefore, vocabulary should be taught in context, and each specific context will demand certain lexical choices, as for instance, if it is written or spoken style (textbooks, magazines, newspapers, letters, emails, lectures, etc), formal and informal situations, etc.
Learners should be aware of specific words which are used in particular contexts. Chunks of language, idioms, idiomatic phrases, collocations are to be taken into consideration to allow natural communication to take place. Disturbing the lexical patterns of texts may lead to artificial, unnatural language production.
