Boo Hoo, it's tax time! Did you know that the IRS requires a certified appraisal to take a tax deduction greater than $5,000 on a donated horse?

There are lots of other reasons why you might need an equine appraised. Many of us that own minis just for fun and local showing may never have the need to insure our animals, but for those people with breeding stallions or valuable show and bloodstock, insuring their equines is akin to insuring their livelihood. Did you know that an insurance company may decline to write a policy for the value you feel your horse is worth unless you have a certified appraisal to substantiate that valuation?

Are you aware that courts can order a certified appraisal in many types of legal proceedings including bankruptcies and divorces? A relative is going through a tough child custody case and the court ordered an appraisal of the child's pony to validate the mother's expenses claimed. Equestrians know how expensive good show ponies can be, but courts don't have that same insight.

These are just a few of the reasons one might need an equine appraisal. Visit our website at www.EquineAppraisals.com to find out more information. Certified and trained by the American Association of Equine Appraisers with over forty years of combined experience in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation Horses, Ponies, Miniature Horses, Western Pleasure & Performance Horses, Trail / Companion Horses.
