Man, I have seen well over 150 concert sets live. Tool twice, Metallica twice, Pumpkins, Primus twice, Melvins, Nine inch Nails, Rage against the Machine, Alice twice, Cell, Lighter Shade of Brown, Cows, Chile Peppers, Boys vs. Girls, Front 242, Manson.....ect.,ect.,ect., but I have NEVER seen pits like THAT. I have never been a die hard Slipknot fan but OH MY GOD!! Did you get a chance to see what that kid had in his hand that dove off the stage? The singer of Slipknot was chasing him and followed him right past us into the pits. I guess he jumped half onto the stage, grabbed something and ran so the singer jumped off the stage after him followed by like 5 sec. guards. I think it might have been a mask or notebook or something...??
Also, at the risk of sounding like a ripoff, that whole making 10,000 people sit down(only 9,900 tickets were sold), is also something that I have NEVER seen and the visual was more astounding than the Chile Peppers/t-shirt thing at Woodstock and I am just going to HAVE to try that live. I just have to. sorry if that sounds like I'm ripping them off but it WAS cool,......right?
Linkin Park played great, Disturbed played great, Mudvayne was ok, Spine Shank (I like them too) didn't do much for me, I missed Receiver though, I was walking from my girlfriends parents houseacross town and the show wasn't supposed to start until 6pm.
As far as Slipknot goes, yeah, if you get the chance, SEE THEM! The only other bands on the road that even compares to them as far as spectacles go are Tool and NIN.
Well I guess I have over stayed my welcome.
