My daughter will be attending Champlain College next fall and would like to continue dancing. I was wondering how far McFadden is from the college? She will not have a car, so is public transportation available? Are there any other dancers at McFadden from the college?

Hello there!
My daughter is in the Wednesday beginner class at 4:15. Due to a work change, it's looking like I can no longer bring her to class. I am wondering if there is anyone in the area who might be able to help out? I'm willing to pay for gas.

Don't forget to book your hotel rooms early.. now woudl be good. Remember, that is Tulip Festival weekend in eastern Canada and hotel rooms are at a premium. The Montreal feis typically has an ID rate at the Holiday Inn - Pointe Claire but that info isn't up yet. Also, the Ottawa feis is a low cap (650) so register early if you;re going. See you all in Canada!

I have a ride TO the O, but I'm going to need a ride BACK to VT on Sunday night. I live in downtown Burlington. I will of course pitch in for gas, and will probably sleep most of the way back :)

I obviously don't know if I'll need to be at awards or not (let's plan on yes haha), so I can't say exactly what time I can go, but if you're dancing on Sunday and have room in your car, please keep me in mind!!

In case any one hasn't booked a hotel yet and wondering where to stay for the Harney Feis and Heavey-Quinn Feis the weekend of Oct 22, I booked at the Courtyard by Marriott Foxboro for Friday, and Courtyard by Marriott Billerica for Saturday. The Holiday Inn Mansfield only had King rooms when I checked, and the Hilton Garden Inn Burlington had nothing. Very disapointing, but CY is usually pretty good. They had good ratings, too and aren't too far from each feis.

Hey Folks! I nearly missed the fact that the Maine Feis is at a different location this year... Biddeford Middle School. I also could not find any recommended hotels from the feis organizers so I grabbed a room at the Hampton Inn in Saco. It was pricey ($189) so if anyone found anything for less I would love to know!

For those attending the McInerney Feis in Worcester, MA on August 14, there is a great feis rate at the Hilton Gardens (right next to the feis) for $92 plus tax. Info on their website at: http://marymacdancers.homestead.com/OpenFeis.html For those of you that may not have been, this is a great feis! Well organized in the Worcester DCU Convention Center, it is a spacious AIR CONDITIONED venue, perfect feis for first timers, friendly, well attended and Oireachtas-quality stages. So incredible to see you both on the Nationals stage representing VT and the McFadden Academy. We're so proud of you. Loved hanging out in Orlando with you and your families. On to Nashville!!!!

For those going to the Canada feises with only one parent, permission from the other parent is required (though not sure how strongly enforced). If you don't already have this taken care of, there is a handy form you can customize at this URL: http://imageevent.com/zandb/consenttotravelform

Our 2nd "Os". How exciting! To Beth Anne and all the dancers, we know how hard you have been working these last few months. On top of dance you have dealt with colds, flu, soreness, injuries, homework, jobs, field hockey, cross country meets, concerts, horse shows, running a business, performances and interviews by the media! You should all be really proud of what you have accomplished and how you have handled yourselves. The team and individual dances all look great and you all shine like the stars that you are. Best of all, your camaderie, support and respect for one another will set an example for every single person you meet this weekend and beyond.
Good luck and HAVE FUN!

Hello! If anyone is ordering McFadden clothing and unsure of size, please just put what size you think it is; such as MED, then put what size you're looking for exactly in parenthesis (like 10/12). That way, you should be able to get the right size. If you have questions, just email me - shepardmom@aol.com. Thanks!

For those not interested in being locked in to a reservation for Providence. I just booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express for $99. It is just 8 miles south of the convention center. It also includes breakfast.

If you think you'll be needing a room at the Westin or Hilton for the Oireachtas in November, you should probably book soon - like today. Booking opened up the the public today. If you get stuck, let me know. I may have an extra reservation.

We're going to the East Durham feis next weekend and wanted to try soft spikes instead of regular curlers this time. If anyone has a set of soft spikes lying around gathering dust, and wouldn't mind us borrowing or buying them, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Abby
