Thanks for your kind words, Liz. One reason I've wanted to share this is because with billions of people in the world, I know there must be others out there like me who don't think I'm gross or crazy, and I've been looking for some validation.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you deal with hygiene when on your period? I do try to be more clean then, because I worry about infection. That's kind of where I draw the line for myself, I don't really want to get that nasty down there. Infections can be actually gross and a real health risk. I use pads because I really don't like tampons, but that does increase the risk of infection if you're not clean. I do shower more often on my period, and I use wet wipes when I change my pads just to be sure. I really don't know what others do, because I've always felt too embarrassed to ask an irl friend.
