Subject: Franklin-Simpson County Fair Author: Brenda - Director [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 08:58:15 05/22/08 Thu Franklin-Simpson County Fair Pageants and Fair Events The Franklin-Simpson County Fair pageants will be held on Monday, June 23rd and Tuesday, June 24th at the Jim Roberts Community Park in Franklin, Kentucky. State preliminaries for Little Miss/Master, Preteen, Teen and Miss will be held on Tuesday, June 24th beginning at 5:00 p.m. Entry fee will be $40.00 for Little Miss/Master (enter as a couple) $25.00 for Preteen, and $35.00 for Teen and Miss. Participants in these pageants must have a Kentucky address or attend Kentucky schools. Winners will advance to state competition and expenses will be paid by the local fair. Children’s pageants for ages 0-7 years of age will be held on Monday, June 23rd. Entry fee for children’s pageants 0-7 years will be $20.00 and will include optional for Prettiest Hair, Eyes, Smile and Best Dressed. All children’s categories 0-7 years are open to anyone except the Little Miss and Master in which you have to be a Kentucky resident or attend Kentucky schools. We will also be hosting a Franklin-Simpson County Fair’s 2nd Annual Cutest Picture contest the week of our fair for ages 0 through six years of age. We also have a category for Pets! Pictures will be displayed at various fair events throughout the week for public voting. We will award a winner in each group. The overall winner will be awarded a Photo Shoot with Images by Amy and will receive a free 8 X 10 photo and around 30 proofs ($75.00 value). There will be no entry fees for the picture contest. A BBQ cookoff will kick off the fair, opening ceremony will highlight Sunday June 22. Other fair events will include a demolition derby, lamb, goat and beef shows, antique tractor pull, pet show, truck pulls, micro-mini tractor pull, cruise-in, fun and games for children, 4-H and open exhibits, carnival rides and numerous other events. This year we have booked Music City Brass, Endora Farms Exotic Animals, and Mark Comley, Magician and Hypnosis, for events throughout the week. On Wednesday and Saturday nights, we will have a hypnosis show for the public.
