You suggested multiplying the family fee revenues by the number of competitors. More typically, family fees are charged once per family and the number of families at a feis is lower than the number of competitors.

A realistic ballpark is 85%. If you count on 200 competitors, figure on about 170 families. 170 x $15 in your examples would be $2,550 (a bit lower than the $3,000 in the example).
