Subject: Average length of time for feis date.

Early in 2013, our teacher talked with parents about having a feis. We submitted an application in June along with our registration fee. Several emails were sent with no response. By October, we still had not heard anything. I thought it was because it would need to be decided on during the regular NAFC meeting. I again attempted to contact the person in charge with no response. I finally contacted a regional representative who got the person in charge to contact me. The date we picked in October was denied, and a possible date of Jan or February was suggested. Of course, this being almost December it is impossible to obtain a venue, musicians, judges, etc. I have asked if any dates are available in 2014, and still not have heard if it is possible to obtain a Jan or Feb date for 2015. Is this a normal length of time to wait for an answer. I have had to release my venue and hotel block and feel very badly for these business people as they were eager for the event to be held. I am sure I must be doing something wrong or am approaching this incorrectly, but really need to be able to report some progress in securing a feis date.
