What it does is free up volunteers for other positions, it creates a more friendly environment because you don't have someone constantly checking a person to see if they paid and people can bring as many friends and family as they want to watch their dancer.

The negatives are that some people will have to pay when they are bringing no one. This generally applies to adult dancers. It may also apply to a very few senior dancers and an occasional youngster that is attending with a friend or relative, which can be addressed on a case to case basis. On the rare occasion a school may be making a group trip out of your feis in which case they also may have 1 adult chaperone(spectator) for every 4-6 dancers. This is rare.

I would like to figure out how much each dance would have to be to avoid an entrance fee altogether. I think that would be the best route. I suspect it would be that each dance would have to be at least $10.00 or more US.
