So, to make our agreement about budgets, I'm now on a set-in-stone doll allowance (as is my husband for his gadgets). And, so far (the past month), it's going all right. But he came across this "great idea," called the stranger test, to help you decide whether you really want something or not. But it didn't work for me.
See if it works for you and your dolly spending. Here's how it works. I'll use myself as an example--my grail doll--a Peak's Woods SD doll, say.
So, I'm in the store, and you're standing in front of a stranger. In one hand he has the item of your desire (my Peak's Woods doll, and in the other hand, he's holding the cost of that item in cash, in this case, a whopping, say $522. I get to choose between the two.
Now, my husband claims that 9 out of 10 times, he'd choose the cash. In my case, if I actually got to SEE that Peak's Woods doll there in person, I'd choose that doll over the cash EVERY time. So, does that mean I failed the test??
What do you think? What would you do?
