Subject: Jocks Might Not Have Dates for Jr. & Sr. Prom

Hey Big Brothers:

Sat., May 15, 2010 seems to be the date set aside by are a high schools for holding the annual Jr. & Sr. Prom around here.

Kyle will be taking girlfriend Julie to the Prom at our school.

As for us guys: Joel, Sean, Luke and Cody were hoping to take to the Prom: Joel wanted to take girlfriend Holly and Sean, Luke and Cody were wanting to each take one of the "farm girls" friends of Holly.

What we guys didn't count on and just found out is that our school and the school that Holly & Farm Girls attend each have a school rule that students attending the Prom can only have a date from their own school and NOT from an outside school.

We are trying to get permission from either of our schools to see if the rule can be changed, but won't know until the school boards hold their monthly meetings before the Prom is held and vote on to change the rule or allow us this one time to attend, otherwise everyone would have to find a date from their own school to go to their schools Prom.

If you follow, us guys could not have the girls attend the Prom at our school and we can't attend the Prom at their school.

Joel: Hey Big Brothers, did your school have such a rule? I assume you both attended your school Proms, but had dates from your own school and not a guest date, which is NOT ALLOWED we found out at either of our schools because of the school policy.

When I found out about this and told Holly that maybe she would have to find a date to attend the Prom at her school and I would have to find a girl to attend with me at my school or neither Holly or I would just not attend each schools' Prom, Holly got MAD at me!

She said to me: 'Joel, you wasn't planning on attending a Prom with another girl, if I couldn't be that girl/your date, were you?'

Big Brothers, I wasn't thinking, and blurted out to Holly: "You don't own me!"

I suddenly received a slap on my face from Holly and she is NOT SPEAKING to me, since then!

I've tried to win her back, and will keep trying if I can take to either schools' Prom!

So far, no luck for me!

I talked with my dad about Holly and the Prom issue. I would like to hear your imput about this unexpected situation, and how I might win Holly back? I value your opinion, besides my dad.

I did say a stupid "thing" to Holly, didn't I? I didn't mean to, it just happened.

I'm sure you've said some stupid things to make your girlfriends mad at you, might you would won them back, right? Ever get your girlfriend so mad that she slapped you? Holly never did that before, she really wants to go to Prom with me.

What do I do, IF the schools won't change their rule? Still go to the Prom with another girl?

(Luke): Hey Big Brothers, I suggested to Joel that if the school rule is changed and approved that a student could attend the Prom that is not a student at that school and is date with a student that is, that if Holly is still mad at Joel that he could take a "Farm Girl" friend of Hollys' or how about the "Girl Fan/Admirer" last Saturday who thought Joel had a "cute looking butt" for a date?

(Joel): GEEZ!

Any advice Big Brothers, besides what my dad has told me, that you might think would be good to do?
