Subject: Is marriage a disaster?

Are you rushing to tie the knot? Here is another typical case of 'potential' divorce case from another forum:
"Dear Brother Big and Brothers here who can give me advice.
I am a machine operator with my monthly income $2000 to $2600 per month depending to my overtime.
My wife monthly income is $2700 per month (fix income).
I had one kid and I had paid maintenance fee for child per month is $520. Also I'll pay her insurance $50 (cash) per month.
I also pay my house electric, water and telephone bill total up is around $250 per month.
Money that give to my parents is $150 each.
Now my wife file the Family Court to ask me to pay her maintenance fee for $400 per month, I think I am not afford to pay that amount. Can I just tell the court that I am not afford to pay or what I should do? With my current situation, can anyone please advise how much should I pay?
Also regarding my 3 room flat, it is under my wife and my name but I am the only person contributing to this flat, it means all the CASH+CPF all paid by me, my wife never pay any single cents on this flat. After divorce, is it will divide to 50% 50%? (my wife want the child). Many thanks for yours help."

- Sad, a typical divorce case going to happen. And the truth is though the wife does not contribute any money$$ to the flat, but she can say she suggested to paint the wall red in color. Or she wash the cloths, mob the floor..Yes she will be entitled to some percentage of the flat, usually 50%. got it? So it is very silly in marrying potential cunning, deceiving woman who treats marriage as bussiness. So don't think that choosing a foreign bride, then she cannot be entitled to it, as long as the flat or house has her name, that's it during divorce. In some case some women will continuing pester their husband to put their name on the house and next thing to do is to create as much problems as possible until the husband cannot take it, then divorce. Some unfilial man even has the heart to chase their parents out or send them to old folks home, just to please their so
called 'wife'...It's the End of happy living ever after for marriage.
