CGC stands for Canine Good Citizen. It is a test given by the AKC (American Kennel Club) here in the US. It is a basic obedience test.

TDI stands for Therapy Dog International. The TDI title is also a test where a dog is tested for their basic obedience as well as their ability to work as a therapy dog in a hospital, nursing home, etc. The link that shows the basic requirements to pass the TDI test is: TDI Testing Requirements

A dog must be at least one year old to test for TDI, so Jaf will not be eligible to take the test until July 2010. Azaan passed her CGC and TDI when she was about 16 months old.

The tests are not the end all and be all of dog training or testing, but they are something to work towards with young puppies as we teach basic obedience, good manners and pack leadership.
