Great appraisal scores for the babies, especially at only 9 months old! The Mouse in the house got appraised too, didn't she?

I know all about backflips and vertical take offs! LOL. How come you didn't take a photo while you were trying to handle the dog? Ha-ha!

Last week at Agility class our instructor had us work on a sequence where the dog would take a jump, make a sharp right turn after the jump and go into a curved tunnel, and then come out of the tunnel and make a U-turn and go over another jump. We never run the same sequence so that it teaches the dog to focus on the handler. The trick for the handler is that they have to be prepared with the next set of instructions as the dog completes the last obstacle. Well, it all sounds good and easy on paper. Azaan went over the first jump great, watched me point and command her to the tunnel and made the sharp right turn to enter the tunnel. All is good at this point. The trick (according to the instructor) is for the handler to run to the other side of the tunnel while the dog is in it, get to the other side and turn around to give the dog its next instruction. Once the handler is on the other side of the tunnel facing the right way, then you have the dog execute a U-turn and go back over the 2nd jump. Needless to say, Azaan is a bit fast and scrambled through that tunnel faster than I could get to the other side and turned around. This agility stuff is not so easy for the handler!! As she came out of the tunnel, the first thing she saw was me running with my back towards her (not good). Guess what happens next? The ever quick-thinking Azaan took the opportunity to do one of her patented sneak attacks and jumped on me from behind before I could get turned around. I am considering buying a boat anchor to slow her down while I get my agility moves down!!! LOL.
