My team was called Devil Dogs, I had the Marines as a sponser back then. I raced on the dirt tracks with as much HP as we could get, with a carb. After destroying that car we couldn't afford to rebuild it so we went to asphalt. Truck class, crate motor. I have run Lakeland. That is our high speed track in the crate motor truck series down here. I was able to do some practice laps at Daytona because I know the right people in that area. I can't afford it anymore. The last race the truck ran it was in 2nd place and got pushed and ended up in 5th. We only run 25 laps. My crew chief and mentor was driving in that race. I was unable to get off work that weekend.

I know it is best to sell a race vehicle at the end of a race when the vehicle does well. I think I might have to do one more race, just to sell the thing. OK, I really want to do one more race. That is the real reason I have not sold it yet. I miss my dirt track car but that truck is stuck to the road like glue. It is for sale and qualifies for more than one racing organization. $6,000 takes it with extra tires, brand new transmission with zero races, maybe some extra gears and springs for other tracks.
