#1 - You're right, no rule. There's precedent though, as that's what's happened for two weeks running. Either way, we'll see what Nick decides.
#2 - Because you're only goal is to use the race to gain the ability to challenge into the Top 10. Why take out someone in a competitive pack of cars with that being you're only goal?
#3 - Not sure you're comment has merit, at least if you're directing it at me. I've accepted a challenge from someone in the Top 25 and I'm hoping that we finally get to race on 9/25 (we've been trying for two weeks now.) If I lose, I lose and we change places accordingly (sounds like defending a position to me.) Whatever the outcome, it'll be a competitive race and not one where a geared 1/8 miler takes on a daily driver simply for the right to challenge into the Top 10.

With 9/25 being the last race of the month, it wouldn't do you any good anyway. As you've no doubt realized, you save a step waiting for the time trials the following/first weekend in October (btw, people are expecting Top 3-5 for your car.)
