Hi,

Im a new breeder, and also my Rat is a first time mum. She has done very well with her litter. But unfortunaylt on Saterday 16th Oct we lost the smallest of the litter. Is this because she was the runt of the litter or was there something up with the pup? When I removed her from the cage the mother did not want me to take it away. So i took her out while I took the baby away.

On the stomach of the baby looked like blood, it seemed all bruised ect, any one know why this has happened? the other small pup looks un-well too. Is this common too loose pups like this? I hope the other one does not pass away. Plz could some one let me know why this pup may have died.

Thx

Lesley. (UK)
