Really its a long story. My Mistress knew of my enjoyment of things feminine while we were courting, and was accepting. After we were married, she did a 180, and rejected my dressing. Over the years I have persisted in small ways. While I necessarily have some "drab" outfits. I have gradually exchanged all my men's jeans for women's jeans. When I buy women's tops, I model them for her and asks if she approves. Of course Mistress has veto power. I now only wear women's clothes at home, but they are moderately androgenous. AND she knows I am buying women's clothes, never men's.
Some of the process does not deal overtly with feminization. For example, when I wear my old male work clothes, she tells me to throw them away because they are so ugly. The other day I put on a snug pair of white Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, and a cute blue woman's polo, after wearing my drab work clothes the day before. Mistress complimented me on my look saying that was "more like it." But no direct conversation about feminization.
Mistress has now said she realizes that my feminity is here to stay, and has said she is going to live with it. I am submissive to her desires and specific requests. I have acknowledged that I am a girlie boi, and enjoy feminization. She acknowledges I am not attempting to be over the top. We are developing a supportive atmosphere. She has even started to buy me women's tops (somewhat androgenous, but cute). I express my delight. She enjoys her superior role, and my submission. She likes it when I call her, "Mistress."
Little behaviors, little shifts, passing comments, leading to some open dialogue, and slow and steady movement down the feminine lane.
