Why
Why do I toil and suffer, asked a man one day.
Why am I born, why do I live, then slowly fade away.
Why is there land and water,
Day and night,
The change of season.
What the hell am I doing here;
There surely is a reason.
Some one must have it in for me
That I live a life so stoic.
The sun shone down upon that man;
The world´s first paranoiac.
Now I have an answer, cried a man one day,
To why I´m born, and why I live,
Then slowly fade away.
Too many years I´ve wandered,
A universal waif.
I´ll base half my life on logic
And the other half on faith.
Little did he realise
Such ways were pathogenic.
The moon beamed down upon that man;
The world´s first schizophrenic.
I´m not so sure about it all, cried a man one day,
About why I´m born, and why I live,
Then slowly fade away.
There were no words to comfort him,
No murmurings apostolic,
The universe frowned upon that man;
The world´s first alcoholic.
