Yes, I have and do take the Bible as a "whole." And as a whole, it's much worse. I think the whole thing about taking the Bible as a "whole" is just a way of getting around its obvious problems anyway. What if I wrote a book that said one thing somewhere, and something that contradicted that thing somewhere else? People would just think I was an idiot. But when the Bible does it, it's some glorious mystery.

I was a strong Christian for about 8 years. I believed completely in the "truth" of the gospel. I am no longer very open to it, since I have seen the Bible for what it is. But I am always open to new evidence if you have any.
