Some theories regarding evolution are unproven... sure.... but many are....
Hospitals currently have a lot of trouble with superbugs ... these are things like golden staf which change when attacked with antibiotics.
Some of these little nasties survive our attempts to kill them, these little survivors breed up and before you know it the antibodies that used to kill them no longer work and thus we get the disease. I understand aids does this quite readily.
Yes the the virus adapts! ... why does it adapt ... because evolution allows it to!
These changes can take place in weeks and even days.... and they don't change into fish! The problem with us and the monkeys is that the changes took place over millions of years!.... a concept of time people find very difficult to understand.
