Let's get this straight - Democrats generally screw up military endeavours, but Republicans don't always get them right, either. A prime example of something the Bush administration is doing that I disagree with is their horrible mishandling (abouse, almost) of the Army's inactive ready reserve. The Army's recruiting folk need fixing, as do the Army's policies on retention. Rumsfeld has egregiously abused our servicemen and women by misusing our IRR. I'm not mindlessly supportive of Republicans, either. Look - your whole point was that Repubicans are generally uneducated jingoistic yee-haws that are too stupid to figure out the "real facts." Right? But how do you explain the fact that Republicans are better-educated than Democrats? That Republicans on average earn significantly more than Democrats? They're more likely to own their own homes? They're less likely to have been convicted of a crime? These statistics don't seem to jive with your infantile gibberish... The real reason is that Liberal Democratic economic policy is dangerous to our economy. If you could manage to see past the "Party Line" you've been fed (and are now faithfully regurgitating, like a good little sheep) and think about the rational basis of Democratic social and economic policy (and maybe even put down your Gloria Steinem and read some basic economics text) you'd be better equipped to have a real conversation.
