Which is why I said zero is a place to simply attack infinity, (one has to start somewhere, and what better place than zero?) anticipating this criticism. Why start at zero? Why start at last year? Why move forwards from zero? Why count backwards from last year? With infinity in the mix, all of these proposals are equally good, because they are all points contained in infinity.

Infinity also wouldn't start "last year" whatever that would mean for Shandy. "Last year" is as arbirtrary and as ambigous as starting at zero when the past is infinite. Hell, just for fun, why don't we make last year 0. What day did he write about? 1. Then it's off to year one and that brings day two. Backwards? Year -1 and day 0. (he can write about negative years and negative days because he's trapped in infinity.

And just as a reminder, no one has ever said that infinity is or has to be logical. In fact, most theories are revamped when infinity pops up because it IS i, anticipating this criticismllogical.(Think about the reason why Planck was inspired to come up with his constant; it didn't make sense to say a thing got "infinitely hot".)
