..... I think it's futile to look up what words a particular translator has used (maybe it's a translation of a previous translation?) and what its modern meaning(s) might be.
..... It seems to me that God is quite capable to "talk" to us in our own language, and that NO translation is needed if something by God is actually for us. Also lots of interpolations and other changes have happened to what are now called scriptures and other writings. If the ORIGINALS are no longer available, then these writings no longer apply , and may never have been for us at all.
