In reply to: BTL 's message, "Excuse me" on 02/24/04 9:49pm

>excuse me...You listen...You are the one being rude,
>and disrespectfull in the way you rubbish my beliefs.

Because I don't believe what you do I suppose that means to you that I "rubbish" your beliefs. If the options are "believe it" or "rubbish it" then I'm definately the latter.

>You don't see me being balshy, rude and mocking your
>atheistic views.

I didn't "mock" your views until you felt arrogant enough to tell me (a person who doesn't believe in the christian god) exactly how much of "nothing" I am compared to him, and how it was "foolery" to talk about God's ethics. How'd you expect me to reply?

>I may express my beliefs strongly but I am not rude!

I beg to differ. Christians have a way of saying things very offensively under the guise of "truth". The fact that you don't realize how rude your comments seem goes far in demonstrating how closed-minded you are when it comes to others viewpoint than your own.

>Every statement I have made you have replied in a
>cocky manner.

Not "every" statement, but many of your "christian values" you dress up and parade around as absolute truth but are actually extensions of closed-mindedness and judgementality I have responded to in like tone. (It doesn't feel very good to have someone state their views so judgementality absolutely does it?)

Quite rude, you may not take my beliefs
>seriously...but I do...so I would expect you to enter
>into conversation in a manner befitting the subject.

I get it. So the rules of the conversation are that you are allowed to be as rude as you want calling it "truth" and I'm supposed to simply sit back and politely respond being very careful not to trample on any belief you happen to be trying to shove down my throat.

Sorry, homey don't play dat.

>THIS IS NOT A MOCKING SESSION!

I agree. When you adopt a tone that I consider acceptable, I'll be more than happy to reciprocate.

>
>There is a difference between saying you do not agree
>with something and not agreeing & also being rude &
>beligerent.

Yep! There certainly is. I'd like to say in closing that I'm very cognizant of the fact that my replies may be construed as rude. I wrote them that way on purpose. However, as I said before, the fact that you aren't even vaguely aware that your posts could be considered extremely arrogant and rude goes far in demonstrating how developed you are when it comes to considering other viewpoints than your own. Adopt a more respectful tone, and you'll have "others do unto you as you done unto them."
