I was hoping i would have more time but apparently not:)
sorry, it took so long to reply.

>>One of the things I read on this board,(I think it was
>>Wade who waid it)is that God is above time.

>Well, just because Wade said it doesn't make it true,

I wasn't saying that because Wade said it made it true, i wanted to give credit where credit was due.

>For the Christian, God's "existing outside
>of time" is very convenient, because it solves a lot
>of problems.

What problems does it solve?

>But no, I don't think that God exists
>outside of time, because I don't think it is possible
>to do so. I see time as simply a succession of
>events, and not something that actually exists in the
>sense you're talking about.

There is a beginning and end to everything, so i can see your "succession of events" as a valid description of time, but God is the Alpha and Omega, he has no beginning or end so even by your description God still fits outside of it.

>Well, back then, they didn't know there was a
>"universe." They thought the lights in the sky were
>fixed above the earth in the "firmament," which was
>just above the earth.

Within their scope of knowledge the "firmament" was their universe. It wasn't until Galileo, that the peoples on earth even began to think that the earth wasn't the center of the universe. This is an invalid point, because what you and i can conceive of the universe is still far less than it's actual existance. For the Biblical people, it was fixed just above the earth. For us, it extends for light years, but even with our technology we cannot completely define the universe.

>If you don't believe me, do
>some research on your own. I have studied this.

I believe you in the fact, that Biblical people did not have the knowledge we did and therefore were incorrect in some assumptions. Adam walked with God in the garden of eden, before sin. The Bible does not tell us what they talked about or for how long Adam was there before he sinned. Could God have shown, or told Adam about the universe outside of the earth? And Adam passed this on through word of mouth until Moses wrote it down?

>I am also willing to change my
>mind in the future if sufficient evidence is offered.
>Are you?

Yes, but let me emphasize, sufficient.
