I started out looking for parents ideas, pro and con about spanking. There are 3 kids in our family ages 7 - 10 and they get spanked when necessary. Looked at many sites that dealt with the subject and in as many ways as you care to think about. In my own growing up in a house with 3 girls and 2 boys spankings were dreaded and unwanted but a freshly spanked bottom was not completely unusual.

Spankings were indeed a dramatic part of childhood, each one was a drama in itself. Being a very childish punishment for wrongdoings they had their place in discipline in our house to the tune of 1 or 2 over the course of a month,sometimes more and sometimes not at all. Childish in that spankings were always done in the same manner bare bottomed, across the knee and with the hairbrush from a young age until 12 or 13. Spankings when older were felt to be childish by the one getting it because they had been given the same way forever and it was embarrassing to get it that way.

If I could change the past? No I probably would not remove the spankings even though we all hated them and always tried our best to get out of them, begging, pleading to not get a spanking which always seemed to fall on deaf ears.

As for reenacting them? When we were kids we played spanking games, like house where mommy and daddy had to spank bad boys and girls but outside of that I can't say I've wanted to.
