In reply to: . 's message, "Thanks. I completely agree. However, what about a dancer that is in good time except for a very small portion of one step?" on 07:51:10 09/14/10 Tue

Ok take a difficult step. Executed poorly or with loss of time, which again is centre most important to dance:

The material is too difficult!

The dancer would be better off with something slightly easier and EXECUTED to perfection.

However yes if throughout the dancer is great or very good other wise, ie your first place or second place you might drop them to 3rd/4th.

Get the drift?

Note it. Most definitely. If it's not in your notes you can't talk about it as they will say you have not written it down.

Note it and if it pops up..... Be clear and confident that you really liked this dancer. It's a great pity..... but she lost time. And your first and second or whatever where steady and strong throughout.

That is your decision. That is what you saw. You had to make a decision and be fair to all competitors. So you marked accordingly. And today that dancer was third or fourth for you or whatever.

Again. I hope this helps.

Good luck.

Don't panic. You can only judge what you see on the day. Remember.

Be fair.

Clear conscience.

You will be fine.
