  • Beyond the answer they want you to put on the test, it's irrelevant. Any tunes in duple meter can be written in 2/4 or 4/4, and you could find all of them written in both time signatures. One is chosen over the to make it easier to read. I have a tutorial on "Understanding Timing in Irish Dance Music".
