日本福島核電廠1、3號機先後傳出氫爆，今(14)日下午則傳出，由於福島核能1廠爆炸後傳放射物質外洩，距離福島核電廠160公里遠、目前人在仙台的美軍，共有17人恐怕已經遭到輻射污染。而根據日本共同社最新消息，美國直升機發現核幅射感染後，航空母艦終止救援活動。

日本福島第一核電廠3號機14日上午11時01分驚傳氫氣爆炸，日本媒體報導，已知有11人受傷。日本原子力安全保安院14日隨即緊急呼籲，要求福島第一核電站附近20公里內的居民不要外出，以防止核子輻射。

福島第一核電廠3號機昨天冷卻系統失靈，發生部分燃料棒熔化的爐心熔毀危險，今天一早以注入海水的方式，進行冷卻作業，沒想到仍無可避免，如同 12日1號機一樣，再度發生氫氣爆炸。從3號機的爆炸畫面可看到，向上竄冒出黑色的煙和水蒸氣，爆炸之後還有東西被炸飛落下，推斷比1號機爆炸更加嚴重。
