特首曾蔭權昨日接受電台節目訪問，雖然不評論投票人數，但指結果反映不少市民不喜歡激烈抗爭，又稱要同時重視未有參與投票市民的取態。
林瑞麟昨晨也沾沾自喜地說，政府一方面要尊重逾 50萬選民投票意向，「我哋同樣亦要繼續聽取冇投票嘅 280萬登記選民嘅意見」。

公、社兩黨怒斥政府不尊重投票選民意向。梁家傑形容 50萬人是個「極大嘅數字」，「可以令任何一個政府下台」，指摘林瑞麟對投票者「非常唔尊重」，「強姦民意、荒謬絕倫」。社民連前主席黃毓民稱在政府打壓下仍有 50萬人投票，「政府根本就係輸晒」，諷刺指「呢 50萬人，你食咗佢呀； 50萬人呀，你吞咗佢吖？你唔落場玩而咁講係無恥」，聲言要在立法會「好好哋招呼林公公（林瑞麟）。」
