1. Describe yourself in three adjectives and explain why.

2. What was like being crowned as Miss Minnesota USA 2011?

It was a shock! The Miss Minnesota USA pageant was the first I had ever participated in, and knowing full well that many girls who compete in my state run 4-6 times I was taken by total surprise. When you're a rookie you have no idea what to expect. To me this was going to be a fun experience and of course dream come true, but I wanted to be realistic. I was elated to win "Miss Congeniality" and felt so accomplished just f or making the top 15. When they announced my name I broke down crying, the video footage is so funny, you see my sincere shock! After our contract meeting post-c or onation my Mother and I got into the car and just giggled at each other f or at least a minute. Both of us were in such disbelief, of course we knew I could do it, but this was such an incredible hon or . It still feels surreal!

3. What is the proudest moment of your life or most mem or able day?

My proudest moment to date would be landing my first job out of college. It might sound crazy, but finishing school in 2009 made landing a full time job very difficult. When I received that first job offer right after finishing school I couldn't wait to tell everyone. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and value.

4. Who is your role model and why?

My grandmother JoAnn Herbert is my biggest role model. She is my grandmother on my Mom's side of the family and such a gem. Not only did she successfully raise a family of six, but she has always had at least two part time jobs to supp or t her family. She is such an inspiration when it comes to being a true renaissance woman. She did and continues to do it all. My grandmother is a dedicated, hard-w or king, meticulous woman with the biggest heart. She continues to inspire me as she now takes care of my grandfather suffering severely from Alzheimers. Through all of her challenges she remains positive, hopeful and devout with her faith. It is her complete and utter devotion to God that inspires me most.

5. What motivates you, and why?

I am motivated most by a true challenge. If someone challenges me or questions my abilities I am determined to prove myself. I find daily motivation in my w or k by continuously trying to build on the high standard I set f or myself or even while w or king out, each time I try to push myself that much further. Anything w or th doing is w or th doing well and every time I take something on I doing nothing but my very best.

6. Fav or ites Questions

7. Tough 5 Question

Success is achieving your highest goals without compromising your m or al integrity.

I dislike when people tell me they will "TRY," f or me there is no "trying" there is simply doing. Either you are going to do something or you're not. When people say they will try it shows that they lack of confidence in their answer and theref or e why should I be confident that they will do it? When people ask I say that I will either do it or not, and make it work.

This one is easy. I believe in the United States the only challenge women face today is ourselves. Too many women are quick to judge, accuse, gossip or slander other women. How can we expect others to appreciate and value our contributions to society when we are so quick to break ourselves down? It is the women who supp or t others and w or k to promote growth and development of other women who have the greatest success.

This for me is Miss USA 2005 Chelsea "Cooley" Altman. Bef or e w or king with StandOut Productions I had heard of and admired Chelsea , but since w or king with her and Dr. A.T. Dunn I find her the finest titleholder among an incredible group of women. Chelsea is personally and professionally a huge role model f or how women should act and think. Everything she does, says, and believes in comes from a place of self-confidence, a true love f or people, and a deep conviction to her beliefs. She has helped me grow and develop as a woman and I believe that the way she represented the United States was with such grace, poise and elegance, yet always approachable. Chelsea is the epitome of what Miss USA stands for .

It is easy to place judgement on cosmetic surgery in pageants, but I simply don't see the point. Each of us alters our look in some way or another through makeup, hair extensions, tanning, even w or king out or dieting. Although I personally have never had cosmetic surgery and would not consider it f or a pageant I am not going to pass judgement on the women who do. You want to feel your best at competition and the girl who is the most confident in who they are and the way they look will win.

10. Tell us a little something about your Country?

I feel so f or tunate to have grown up in the United States . There is no where else in the entire w or ld where I would have been able to do all of the things I've accomplished in my 24 years. We have unlimited opp or tunities and unlimited access to inf or mation, which is such a blessing.

11. What is the one thing, that people didn't know about you?

13. What pageant question was your fav or ite?

My top 5 question at the Miss Minnesota USA pageant: "Women today have a tough choice to make between building a career and raising a family, if you were to choose which would be most imp or tant"

A big thank you to Miss Libby and Miss Britanny, i know Ms. Britanny will rock the usa this 2011...

"Nothing can stop a person with the right mental attitude from achieving his/her goals; nothing on earth can help a person with the wrong mental attitude." -Thomas Jefferson

When Future Productions State Director Denise Wallace announced Brittany Thelemann had won the contestant vote for Miss Congeniality at the 2011 Miss Minnesota USA pageant everyone knew she had come with the right mental attitude. Then moments later when she was named Miss Minnesota USA 2011 it was clear she had achieved her goal. President Thomas Jefferson’s analysis of attitude is exactly the way Brittany tries to live her life.

Growing up in the Minneapolis suburb of Plymouth, Minnesota, Brittany was taught from an early age the importance of attitude, dedication, and kindness.

“Every morning my parents would tell me how much they loved me and give me a big kiss,” Brittany said. “Then my Dad would remind me on my way out the door ‘Be Nice to All the Kids’”.

That simple phrase of ‘Be Nice to All the Kids’ has resonated with Brittany her entire life. The 24-year-old marketing and sales associate and former Minnesota Timberwolves professional NBA dancer, is a true native Minnesotan. She graduated Wayzata High School and was voted “Most Likeable/Talkative” by her peers. Brittany quickly found herself immersed in every activity from the arts, to State President of the business club DECA, the student newspaper, and even lived for a summer is Washington, D.C. as a Page in the United States House of Representatives, all while in high school. Achieving all of these goals and graduating with a class of over 800 students was not an easy task, but Brittany had the right attitude.

“I have always loved being involved, because it made my huge high school much smaller,” Brittany said. “I had friends in every group, but I had to remain really focused and driven to manage the busy schedule.”

Her drive continued in college at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. where she majored in mass communications and journalism with minors in women’s studies and visual communications (graphic/web design). Brittany’s love for involvement had her on multiple executive boards, performing as a featured soloist on an international Italian choir tour, and mentoring young women as a Resident Advisor in the dorms.

“People often ask how many times I ran, or how long I had been doing pageants,” Brittany said. “They are always surprised when I tell them this was my first one, but I think all of my other experiences prepared me.”

Her preparation is now full swing for the biggest stage yet, Miss USA at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. This June Brittany will represent her proud home of Minnesota and compete for the title of Miss USA 2011 with 50 other beautiful, smart and talented women from across the country. The winner of Miss USA will go on to compete at Miss Universe and work under the direction of the Miss Universe Organization as an international ambassador and advocate for the USO, Susan G. Komen for a Cure and many additional philanthropic causes.

Brittany’s goal is to keep her positive mental attitude and remain true to herself.

“I’m just going to go and ‘be nice to all the kids.’”
