There is little risk that you will ever see the money again, but there is a somewhat greater risk that your name will be exchanged with that of other potential marks. There is a great risk of embarrassment when people find out. So, consider carefully before buying guns, drugs, fake IDs, fake money, fake money-cleaning solutions, and other fictional offerings. For that matter, be careful when dealing with escrow scammers from Digital Ocean. They will send you a realistic check which you can deposit, then immediately wire the proceeds to the Digital Ocean spammer. Later you can try to make repayment arrangements with the bank.
