I sense that the majority of posted messages within our community are from the point of view of the grown-ups (like me) who have enabled their youngsters to become a smoker as a child. As well as being such a parental smoking role model and enabler of my own children and granddaughter, I was, many moons ago also a child who became a heavy smoker as a 7-year-old boy. I would love to hear more personal experiences about the experiences and feeling of people who were smokers (like I was) throughout their childhood. I am especially interested in the meaning that children attach to their status as a smoker, how a daily smoking habit affects one's childhood, the responsibilities imposed upon a child as a result of their own addiction, where abouts, when, how frequently and with whom does a child light up, what children who are observed smoking by others feel, the intensity of a child's daily cigarette consumption, brand identity and the process by which they are helped by their parents etc to develop a smokers routine and sense of identity.

If you have any experiences about the way your smoking as a child affected your sexual awareness and active engagement in sexual relations, which was certainly the case for me as a young smoking boy in company of my aunty, I'd also gain much from hearing from you about that as well.

If I get some positive contributions, I'd feel a new sense of connectedness with the (apparently) 100s and 100s of other children like I was who take on a smoking lifestyle during childhood.

Let's see where this complex issue goes. Parents of children who smoke can feel quite free to contribute, from their child's perspective of what they think being a smoker means and entails for their little one.

Let's light up our children's lives, P
