Everybody wants to get rich from free information. There are 4 square pads right next to the 24C02 eeprom(Mine is Latitude C610 with 595B tag). Hmmmmm, I wonder what they are for? One goes to pin 5, one goes to pin6, and other 2 pads go to ground. I shorted one of them(pin 5 or 6 not sure) to ground,powered up, it said "Press Fn-X to reset..." and it reset the eeprom....NO MORE PASSWORD!!! Stop paying those thieves $30-$50 for an eeprom replacement!!!! IT DOES WORK. I did 3 laptops so far. I used similar method to fix ECM'd satellite reciever with 24lc16 eeprom.
